Barack Hussein Obama. He was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents are Barack Obama Sr and Ann Dunham. They were seperated and later divorce when Barack Obama was 2 years old. He had one half sister. Barack Obama attended 2 elementary schools: Esteemed Punahou Academy and some school in Jakarta. At the age of ten he was known as Barry and moved with his grandparents. Later on in life when Barack was older he struggled to learn about his heritage. Barack Obama got married to a lady named: Michelle Robinson on October 3,1992. They had two children: Malia Ann Obama born July 4, 1998 and Natasha Obama born June 10,2001. He wrote 2 books :Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance and The Audacity of Hope: Reclaiming the American Dream. Then in 2005 Barack Obama became the fifth African American senator in U.S. history. Later in August 2008, Barack was nominated by the Democratic party as their candidate to be President of the United States. Barack selected long-time and well-respected U.S. Senator Joe Biden as his running mate. He became our 44th president of the United States on January 20,2009.
